In this sewing and dressmaking course, students build their knowledge and confidence expanding their skills in sewing clothing. Classes are 4 sessions, 2 hours each session with free lab time to work on your Sewing Project on Saturday’s between 1-3.
Students can choose from a variety of sewing patterns which include Vogue, New Look, Butterick, Simplicity just to name a few and a range of Vintage Patterns as well from dresses, tops, pants, skirts, jumpers, rompers, vests, corsets and unlined jackets. Students learn how to read the Sewing Pattern, adjust the Fit to their individual size, learn the correct Fabric Pattern Layout and transfer the sewing pattern markings onto the fabric and a variety of construction techniques dependent on students selection. Students can also continue to take Intermediate Sewing Classes to master all Silhouettes and you’ll be able to say I made this! Homework assignments required.
Students also have the choice to take Intro to Intermediate Sewing for $35hr and learn how to make an Apron.
